Well coming up next week’s update is my very first porn shoot. Oh god was i so nervous. Well if you have been reading the blog, you will have an idea of where this is going . It’s been a few days I guess since I made that post, and I haven’t been able to recover or stand back on my own 2 feet. It phsycially feels like my back is broken. I have been in this industry for 5 years now and I never thought it would end up like this of being in a shit load of debt, being sued by bill collectors and worried day in and out if I will eat or be able to get to school.

I have already heard the bull shit keep your head up, and hang in there speech over a million times I am not interested in getting emails or comments from anyone about it. My whole life is about to change over $100.00 I can’t believe I have been crying ever since I saw that enter my account. That right there can do so much for me to rebuild and move on. I use to get mad when I would get money or know I am getting it and know it’s spend before it even gets here, but now I am seeing that is just how life is and more then ever seeing how blessed I am to be able to sit at home and make money from as simple as logging on a webcam and in a few weeks wire transfers and checks are in my mail box/account.

Question: I am in need of advice on which camera to buy for my webcam shows. I was looking to upgrade to a video camera but I am not sure if I should just stick with updating my webcam. My budget is about $100.00 to $500.00 not sure what I should get.  I am looking for good quality in picture and vide, which one is best webcams or video cameras?

Answer:

Well over the years webcams and camcorders have changed a lot. A good video camera can range from $300.00 up to maybe $1,500.00 the best videos cameras out there are JVC miniDV, Sony MiniDV, Canonn and Pannasonic, (You don’t really need a DVD camera unless your going into very high-tech stuff) some video cameras have remote controls which makes it easier for zoom, record and some will even take pictures.  I started off with a Sharp VLNZ100U  It was a fabulous camera, great lighting, and picture quality, and a remote control with a zoom feature, but to take pictures from that camera I had to reach up to the camera it still and click on a small button during intense shows it made it very difficult to take a picture. so I upgraded to the JVC-290 video camera on the remote control itself wtih that one I was able to take pictures from the remote, but the lighting for that camera was a bit of a challenge to figure out.

You will also need a video capture device to connect your video camera to your computer, you can get an external one or a internal one.  Right now the best external ones on the market are Dazzle they have various products I particular use the Dazzle v80 and90 it comes with an easy to use video editing software.  I also used the D-link Video capture device but I am not sure if that product is on the market now. but it would be a good item to search for.  An internal card would be Osprey-200 audio/video capture card.

Webcams are changing so much and they can be in a price range of $20.00 up to $150.00. best brand on the market right now are logitechs pretty much any of those webcams you will be happy, with especially the 4000 or 5000 series a lot of cam girls are using the logtech orbits. but all in all any camera you get will need a good video card in your computer, good lighting around you.  It’s a good idea when you get your camera to test it out from the particular site you will be broadcasting on. a lot of sites now have their own video preview feature for the performers to see so they have an idea of how their camera will look when someone is viewing them.  Use that as your guide to judge how you want your camera video/picture to look.  if the site your working on does not have one you can use Fwink it’s a great product.

I know, it’s been a very long proccess for me to even reach this point to see myself on computer screens all over the globe, but it’s also the most scary and overwelmhing thing I have ever done in my life, Yes ! it’s a big dream of mine of having my own porn website ever since I was little and saw my first porn website, and had the big day of sitting at the bus stop of saying I am going to be a porn star but I never knew how much work it was going to be thank god I got my wake-up call early. School

Going back to school, with a serious commitment of knowing what I want to take in university (midwifery) was the hardest decission I ever had to make. after weeks of researching the ways I can finish my high school diploma weighing the pros and cons of GED or OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma), online , in-class, night-school. I started back school officially in November and in a few weeks I will be writting my first 2 exams. I am scared out of my mind I really thought I would never be able to do it not because of my thoughts per-say because of the pressures and opinions from outside people. I know … I know you shouldn’t really focus on what other people think or say. I try not to but their voices do come back to haunt you sometimes. I know, right now things are rough, but my heart is telling me it will all be worth it in the end so I just need to stick with it.

Social Life

I don’t know what it is I always seem to keep a small nit amout of people I talk to on a regular basis but I don’t really do anything to initiate going out and hanging out with friends. I figure it because I have a fear or something but I got use to being a loner, and sticking by myself and just keeping everything bottled up I know its not the best thing to do, but having trust in other people is a hard thing to do when your use to being pushed aside and feeling like an outcast. I am trying to make a point this year in small steps of course to actually make a bigger circle of friends I have no idea how to do that. but I will figure out a way to do it.

Question:

what hours do you think are the busiest for camming? I usually work a few hours during the day, and haven’t fared all that bad. But is it really busy after 11pm? I don’t even think I could stay up past 1am EST -I don’t know just depends on if the moo-la is there. I suppose I just have to try it sometime. I can always sleep the next day after getting the kids off to school.

With working on any other cam site out there you have to stick to a schedule, you have to remember its the whole world on the internet now, when your going to sleep someone around the world is waking up, and when your waking up someone else around the world is going to sleep  and since the majority of the viewers are men, there is always going to be a man some where around the world who wants to have some fun.

Do we report our earnings from being a webcam girl/performer on our income tax returns? Are tax forms sent out for webcam girls?

Answer:
Well the first thing you need to remember is that being a webcam model, that you are self-employed this is your own business. Some webcam models might be broadcasting on a site but to those sites that you are broadcasting on you are independent and you work from a remote private location being your home or from a studio and your not employed by them and in some cases your not even considered an indepdent contractor but more of a business person.

Managing your money is an essential part of being a webcam model. So it would be a good idea to get a handle on having a bank account, budgeting and saving money and resources for financial assistance. It would be a good idea to contact someone who specialized in filing taxes for small businesses, indepdent contractors or if possible someone who files taxes for actors/entertainers. That way they will be able to help you plan finances and help you along with any business advice. I recomend shopping around until you find the best one who you think who can help you with your finances.

Filing taxes and getting your finances in order can be some what a bit dificult to do, but it’s something you will have to get into a routine of doing. Take it in baby steps for some filing taxes can be an overwelming process. Some cities offer workshops for people who are self-employed about taxes and business planning.

Question: So I quit my job last week, the boss was really nasty and I was really starting to hate my job. I’m wondering is it possible to be a webcam girl full-time or even just part-time since I no longer have a full-time job anymore. Can I really make a good living off this? Answer:

Well from when I first got started being a webcam girl. I was working in a studio, where I had to pick my shifts of when I would be available to work in 24 hour period. The studio considered being a full-time model would be working more then 5 days a week 3 hours each shift. but in the normal job world they would consider being full-time worker would be working 40 hours a week from 7 to 3, 8 to 4 or 9 to 5 maybe 5 days week. but what they are really concerned about is commitment and sticking with a routine and being reliable of being there for the client or customer or compaign.

So of course this can be a full-time or part-time job if you are able to comit to a regular schedule and stick with it for a period of time I would say about 3 to 6 months that way you will be able to get a good idea of what your paychecks would be and possibily compare them with your existing job.  

2008 I have to make it great ! Yes GREAT ! Making things great in life, work, and just all around in a whole. I see the 8 as a coutinous spiral of things in motion moving without a bump or hick up. Which is what I plan on doing this year. I know it won’t be easy but I owe it to myself to make it that way. I am worthly of inner peace. The years before sucked and were painful and in some cases just really unbareable but I am putting those years behind me.

So with my website and doing webcam shows is definitely one of those things I plan on working on to make them great, by rebuilding, and reinventing myself in this industry again. Which is what is so great about this industry I can always rebuild and reinvent myself as a person an as a performer, and I know the transition of doing it everyone will love it.

My income I am working on changing that to make it great as well by getting myself a part-time job it was amazing the 3rd day in the year I got myself a job that starts in 2 weeks isn’t that great, so knowing the fact I can take some time and reinvest in myself and in my webcam shows would make things easier I am not going to rush into it like I did before that just became a nightmare when I tired that. I am going to plan things better or at least make a conscience effort of making a plan from a business budget, spending, and attending events and social gaterings. Also the biggest thing of all is making sure I put in time to pamper myself, and really put myself first I never really did that and I paid the price in a very big way, and now I have to make sure I put myself first.

So 3 cheers to me of making 2008 GREAT !
